Farming in New Zealand's high country is a way of life—and you can experience it up close at Walter Peak.
Nestled on the picturesque southwestern shores of Lake Wakatipu, Walter Peak High Country Farm is an idyllic destination for a relaxing few hours. The farm tour itself is an engaging interactive experience that delights visitors of all ages. After disembarking from the TSS Earnslaw, you'll be greeted by our rural host who will guide you to the amphitheater, where you'll witness the remarkable skills of farm dogs herding sheep from the paddocks.
You'll have time to explore the farm on foot, visit the enclosures where you can help feed sheep and deer, and even get up close with Scottish Highland cattle. Then, take a leisurely stroll to the charming historic wool shed for morning or afternoon tea. Before reboarding the TSS Earnslaw for your return cruise to Queenstown, you may have time to wander through the lakeside gardens.
